In depth

Verdict

Fortuity, King's Icon and Higgy's Boy look the principals in this interesting maiden and the narrow vote is given to Fortuity. The selection is a well bred colt by Xaar and hails from a yard that is in good form. Although he will probably be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time, he looks the one to be on. King's Icon rates the main danger as he is a well bred colt by Soviet Star, but his stable are not renowened for debutante winners and he is taken on with this in mind. Higgy's Boy has shown promise on two runs so far but he will be handicapped after this run and that is where his future may lie. Of the remainder, Scintillo looks the stable's second string on jockey bookings and for the winner we will return to Fortuity, although the market may prove to be informative.
