In depth

Verdict

Former pointer and hunter chaser Rye Brook looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account by trainer Paul Nicholls and is taken to do so at the main expense of Pan The Man and Grouse Moor. The last mentioned comes into this on the back of wins at Plumpton and Huntingdon on his last two starts and has to be respected but has a 7lb penalty to carry that may just anchor him today. Karoo has been knocking on the door of late and may need some help from the handicapper, while Huckster is hard to recommend on recent evidence. Magical Harry has been running consistently well but remains a maiden and may be best watched with a bigger threat looking to come from recent dual Plumpton winner Pan The Man. He also has a penalty to carry for his latest success though and preference is for Rye Brook, who is taken to open his account under rules.
