In depth

Verdict

George Of Hearts was back over his winning trip when third in the Shergar Cup Sprint at Ascot earlier this month. Richard Hughes’ three-year-old has only been raised a pound for that and is definitely one for the short-list but we are loathe to desert the much-improved OEIL DE TIGRE. Tony Carroll’s gelding has already won three times here this year, all under competent 7lb claimer Sophie Ralston, who was also on board when the seven-year-old was second in the Stewards’ Cup consolation here last time ahead of Dark Shot and Boy In The Bar, who may benefit from a step up in trip. Hart Stopper is back in form and still not badly treated while a case can also be made for Solar Flair and Polybius at the weights. Vibrant Chords and Baron Bolt look best of the rest.
