Verdict

A decent contest for the level in which Sir Roderic should give a good account despite faced with a considerable burden at the head of the weights. He drops in grade but plenty of the opposition arrive in excellent form and the appealing combination of recent Beverley scorer RED CHARMER and the improving Becky Smith is preferred. The pair scored in pleasing fashion on the gelding's first start for Marjorie Fife and can take a 7lb rise in their stride. Misu Pete is a great conveyance in these races and toughed it out splendidly to score at Newbury latest. He's gone well in a similar contests for this rider already this season. Mister Musicmaster, Playa Blanca and the nicely-weighted Gala Celebration are others with solid credentials.
