In depth

Verdict

In a first-time visor, Zabaglione is taken to land this valuable handicap. Third in a valuable handicap here over 10 furlongs last time, he is now fitted with a first-time visor which, if bringing improvement, puts him bang there with a chance. Following a filly in form is usually a good policy and, as such, Marinas Charm must go well. Mark Johnston's charge comes here on a three-timer, her latest win coming just three days ago at Windsor. She could well be ahead of the handicapper. David Loder's Amandus cost $350,000 but one win on the all-weather is all he has been able to muster in, admittedly, a light career. Camille Pissarro rates an obvious danger. A good eighth in a valuable York handicap was followed by defeat at Folkestone. He clearly has ability and maybe Kieren Fallon will be able to work some magic on him. The other four need to improve a little to claim the winner's rug so, in a competitive affair, we'll stick with Zabaglione.
