In depth

Verdict

Sky Quest made a belated winning return to action when landing a competitive handicap at Sandown last month and has to be respected off just a 2lb higher mark but preference is for Wee Dinns, who gets the vote over Watamu. The last mentioned does not know how to run a bad race here and ran up to his best when a fair third behind Art Trader over course and distance last month. A further 1lb rise since then looks harsh though and preference is for Wee Dinns. Sylvester Kirk's filly is less exposed than her main rivals and the Newbury winner looked a shade unlucky when going down narrowly to Diamond Lodge last time. The handicapper has justifiably raised the filly 3lbs for that run but with further improvement anticipated she is taken to defy the rise. Sky Quest has to be respected but may find the burden of 10st beyond him and of more interest may be Amanda Perrett's Silver City, although a disappointing effort at Newbury last time is of concern. Mark Johnston's Parkview Love has slipped to a fair mark and along with another recent course second Ocean of Storms has to be respected. Wee Dinns has an obvious chance though and gets the vote to make up for her unlucky defeat last time.
