In depth

Verdict

There are some interesting newcomers in the line up here including Mick Channon's Call My Number and the Barry Hills-trained pair of Private Business and Broken Spur but Elusive Warrior made an encouraging debut at Newbury and is entitled to improve for it. Amanda Perrett's youngsters normally improve a lot from their first start to their second so it would be a surprise if the son of Elusive Quality did not step up on debut form. John Gosden's Bronzed showed promise at Newmarket first time out and has to be respected on his second start along with Paul Cole's Power Broker, who should improve for his first run and for who Jamie Spencer has been booked. Marcus Tregoning is capable of producing one to win first time out so Mulaqat cannot be discounted along with Richard Hannon's Royal Agreement, although the Hannon youngsters have been slow to come to hand this term. That has not been the case with Mick Channon's juveniles and Call My Number probably makes most appeal among those previously mentioned because of that but Elusive Warrior can be expected to step up considerably on debut form and, if doing so, it will take a decent one to beat him.
