In depth

Verdict

EIGHT AND BOB couldn't get to Upgraded when runner-up in this a year ago then occupied the same position later in the week. He's won over hurdles subsequently and can go one better than last year. Conron, who wasn't beaten far into third a year ago, stays extreme distances and testing ground would play to his strengths. Turnpike Trip was in fine form over hurdles for most of last year and caught the eye over a trip much too short on his return to the Flat at Leopardstown. The three-year-old Bligh has only had four starts but looks just the type for a staying handicap while Mandarin Monarch outstayed Cabalgata over this trip at Limerick and can confirm the form. Nostra Casa was staying on over 1m5f on soft ground at Navan and this could be his sort of trip.
