SHANTOU FLYER was a beaten favourite on his hunter chase debut at Warwick but easily landed the odds over this trip at Kelso subsequently and is difficult to oppose here. Southfield Vic competes in this grade for the first time but the nine-times winner hasn’t raced since July. Connetable and Tulsa Jack clearly aren’t the force of old and Three Faces West has never been the best of jumpers and has a lengthy absence to overcome.

Tulsa Jack (IRE) 25-1 (11-12) Held up, mistake 10th, headway 3 out, stayed on into remote 3rd closing stages, tailed off, 3rd of 8, dist behind Road To Rome (12-4) at Haydock 2m 6f (3) gd in Feb.
Connetable (FR) 10-1 (11-12) Jumped left and not that fluent, always in rear, tailed off 12th, pulled up after 15th, at Ludlow 3m (5) gs in Feb.
