Verdict

This does not look a strong race in truth so with the market likely to give us plenty of clues, in the absence of it, BLUE DYNASTY is our call with Forty Thirty and Art Discovery worthy of a place on our shortlist. At US$170 000, its pretty clear that the winter game was not the original aim for Amanda Perrett's charge but he stays middle distances on the flat so it would be a big surprise were that the reason for defeat. Forty Thirty has to shoulder a winners penalty. He beat Marsool by six lengths on debut and that rival has gone to pick up a race since. Art Discovery was no great shakes on the level but Mark Tompkins' horses are operating well at their level at the moment and any market move should be heeded. Talimos won on the level for Ralph Beckett but burnt the fingers of backers on hurdling introduction. Langford Decoit lost his way badly on the flat whilst the remainder are of limited punting appeal. Blue Dynasty has plenty to like about him in this contest and he can provide an upset in the opener.
