In depth

Verdict

Not much strength in depth and this may not be as competitive as the size of the field might imply. Time To Shine looked unlucky when just touched off at Lingfield earlier in the month and this lightly raced type is open to a little further improvement so just gets the vote. Gemi bed comes here in good heart following an impressive seven-length victory in a claimer at Lingfield last time. However, that was a particularly weak affair and the ex-French performer will find this much tougher off his current mark. Of the others, both Attack and Balerno have shown enough in recent outings on the all-weather to suggest they can be competitive at this level if transferring the same level of form back to turf. Route Barree looked in need of the run when dropping out of contention over hurdles recently but will be sharper for the outing and has some respectable turf form on the Flat from last term so shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
