In depth

Verdict

A tough handicap that can go to Rinneen, who ran well over course and distance last time and makes more appeal than Mrs Brown, who has a stiff test at the weights, and Regal Performer, who is closely weighted with the selection and looks sure to be a popular choice as the mount of Frankie Dettori. The King Of Rock is another for each-way players to consider as he has often hinted that a race like this is in him somewhere and his shrewd connections will surely get to the bottom of him at some point. Bienheureux, on the other hand, improved for the step up in trip and will be interesting if supported. That is something that can virtually be guaranteed with Mrs Brown, who as a handicap debutante from Sir Mark Prescott's yard, has to be respected. Her dam was useful at this sort of trip and it will be no shock to see vast improvement forthcoming. However, Rinneen makes far more appeal at the likely prices and, with the bang-in-form Ryan Moore doing the steering, he looks the best bet in a very tricky race to fathom.
