In depth

Verdict

Polish World is taken to complete a quick-follow-up at the expense of Ice Box, Foreland Sands and Missus Molly Brown to name but a few. The afternoon's largest field at the Kent track sees Polish World out to defy topweight, but Ed Dunlop's charge looked the part when scoring over six-furlongs at Lingfield on his handicap debut just three days ago, and is expected to go close in his follow-up bid. His trainer has no reservations about the colt's ability to stay further, and it appears that being gelded has worked the trick. Ice Box has shown a glimmer of ability in the past, but connections had to be disappointed with his latest down-the-field effort at Kempton, and he will do well to bounce back. A bigger danger therefore may be Foreland Sands who gets plenty of weight from the selection, and who bids to get losses back after his defeat at Lingfield a fortnight ago. The drop back in trip is a worry with him though, and the same applies to Missus Molly Brown who stayed on to be third at Southwell on her handicap bow. All in all, Polish World lines up in form, and should prove hard to beat.
