Verdict

POWDERONTHEBONNET was unlucky not to get closer when second at Southwell last time after being hampered at the last. He has gone well on both starts, one under each code, since joining Sam Thomas and this rates a decent opportunity for him to land a first success since 2015. Derrydoon is open to progress but has topweight to contend with and Peppay Le Pugh looks a more viable contender on the back of a decent run in a Kempton hurdle when close up behind Salto Chisco. Bring Back Charlie has claims on his seasonal comeback off a feasible mark, being just 1lb higher than when landing his sole hurdling success at Uttoxeter last autumn for the Twiston-Davies team.
