Verdict

Course and distance winner Persian Herald's success here came in a seller on his penultimate start, since when he's gone close in a similar contest at Stratford, beaten less than a length by Stadium Of Light. This rates a tougher assignment though and WATT BRODERICK makes plenty of appeal to atone for an unfortunate last flight fall when seemingly sure to collect in a Class 4 Warwick handicap last time. A reasonable Flat performer, he remains unexposed over timber and can gain compensation here. Pinotage has shown enough in three hurdling starts to indicate that he merits a place on the shortlist and could have improvement to come, whilst the lightly-raced Waving is also one to be interested in, especially so should he attract notable market support.
