In depth

Verdict

An interesting hunter chase with a few of them having a bit to prove and we will aside with one of them, Spring Margot, to score from Perange, Cantarinho and Bregogue. The selection would have these for breakfast on some of his previous form when owned by Sir Robert Ogden. Although his optimum trip in younger days was 2m 4f, he stays three miles now, jumps well in the main, and handles cut. We have to forgive him a lifeless run at Bangor the other day, but he should be sharper for the outing and can take advantage. Cantarinho will be popular after a couple of recent pointing wins. He stays well, though ideally would prefer quicker ground, but his best form would give him a clear chance of being involved. Perange is a former Paul Nicholls inmate who has a bit of class about him, and has won five of his 24 races. Staying has never really been his forte, but the slower pace of these hunters may help him get home. He handles cut and can go well, while Bregogue is another who needs to prove his stamina and looks to prefer better ground, so we will stick with Spring Margot to come good this time.
