In depth

Verdict

Theatre Diva has been found a decent opening for her chase bow and can come home ahead of Malakiya and Scaramouche. The selection made rapid progress over hurdles last season, winning two of her last three starts. Her stable could hardly be in better form as she makes her reappearance, she has conditions in her favour and is bred to jump a fence. Malakiya has faced stiff tasks on both outings over fences and can be expected to take closer order in this less exacting company and he appears to be the chief threat to the selection. Hydromatic has shown a glimmer of ability but takes a marked drop in trip and of more interest is Scaramouche. He's done most of his racing over further but should find this an adequate test and performed well enough over hurdles to be of interest in this company. However, the claims of Theatre Diva are preferred on this occasion.
