In depth

Verdict

The vote goes to Vial De Kerdec but Prince Bere must be feared whilst Euro Import and Crossguard may fare better now handicapping. The selection is dropping markedly in trip for his second start in the handicap ranks having never threatened to land a blow over two miles six at Huntingdon but that run was not devoid of promise. He should have sufficient pace to be competitive today and this company looks less demanding. Prince Bere finished a close up fifth when last in action in November and fitness won't be an issue for his return to action. He's done most of his racing on these shores on top of the ground but had plenty of soft ground form to his name in France and it would be no surprise if that brought about a deal of improvement. The market should help to sort out the claims of Euro Import and Crossguard who may well prove capable of better than they've shown to date but the vote, at this stage, goes to Vial De Kerdec.
