In depth

Verdict

With those to have run showing little, this looks likely to go to a newcomer and the betting should point the way. Lancer Scott looks a likely type and is put forwards. David Pipe sent out a debutant winner of a bumper last week which bodes well for the chances of the selection who certainly looks the part on paper. He's a half-brother to the useful Quarrymount amongst others and should know his job. There are three other runners that take the eye and all have eyecatching jockey bookings. Paddy Brennan has an excellent record for Stuart Kittow so Foolish Cliche should be monitored in the market whilst the other two are the newcomers, Search Me and Magical Treasure. The former is related to winners and from a yard that has tasted success in this sphere whilst the latter's half-sister has performed wonders for this yard over the years and did win a bumper. An interesting little finale in which Lancer Scott may be able to make a winning debut.
