Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute managed to place DUBAI ECHO to win at Ripon last time and now back in handicap company he looks likely to follow up at these weights, while My Shadow and Eastern Aria are interesting in opposition. The selection got better as the race went on at Ripon, comfortably beating a small field in maiden company, but if the assessor has him right with a mark of 85, then he should be able to win this relatively weak contest. Eastern Aria has been kept to this trip for his last five starts, winning two and finishing runner-up in two, including last time at Chester. Fast ground suits and she remains on a fair enough mark so she can get heavily involved. My Shadow is 4lbs higher than when scoring over a mile at Goodwood last time, but has won from this sort of mark on the Polytrack and should not be far away on ground that suits. Barliffey performed with plenty of credit after a break at Sandown last month and if finding improvement would probably be a major player here, but Dubai Echo is now on the right track and can score again.
