In depth

Verdict

THEOBALD is on a confidence-boosting mission and having his first start on the surface. A debut winner at Leopardstown in June, he was subsequently placed in two Group 3's and has last two runs have been at the highest level though he's been well beaten. This is a massive drop in class and he should get back to winning ways. Palariva showed potential on her opening run here and duly obliged on a return visit. Both starts were over 7f but this looks more her trip and she looks certain to get into contention. Aishling's Secret has run well in 7f maidens here and this longer trip looks certain to suit while Downdraft made a satisfactory debut three weeks ago and the half-brother to Group 1 winner Chelsea Rose will have come on a bundle for the experience. His stable also run the newcomer Paulo Veronese, who is related to a host of all-weather winners in the USA.
