Verdict

General Marshall cost US$1.15m and made an encouraging debut at Cork. He'll definitely improve, as most of his stable's juveniles do, though TOSCANINI will take the world of beating. Runner-up in the Anglesy Stakes behind Dick Whittington, he's had that form franked by the winner's subsequent Group 1 success and can hardly be opposed. Romiac made a very encouraging debut at Leopardstown but could have been found an easier opening to losing his maiden tag.
