In depth

Verdict

Almadaa finished just in front of CHARISMAS BIRTHDAY when they occupied the places last month but the latter was having just her second start since September and has since improved to beat Naoise. Her rider's claim means the pair meet again on similar terms and she can continue her progress and complete a double. The veteran Richelieu was hit with a massive rise after completing a double in January and has struggled subsequently but Thats A Fret has been running better than his form figures suggest and isn't out of this with Conor Hoban's claim a bonus. It's a while since Tsar Paul won but he's also worth considering in an open contest.
