In depth

Verdict

RASPUTIN showed plenty of potential in three races at Ayr last summer and made a bright start for Tommy Carmody when runner-up to the odds-on Atticus Finch in a claimer over 7f here a month ago. That should have put him spot-on for this and he gets the vote though Tommy Stack's newcomer Penniston Line, a son of Holy Roman Emperor, is bred for this job and could pose a threat. Majestic Timeline put a very poor debut run behind her with a better effort here a couple of weeks ago and though Jim Bolger's Highwater Express showed little in his two starts last summer his stable has been in fine form during the winter.
