It's a long time since the veteran Hard Bought showed winning form though he's 13lb lower than when last successful and this isn't the toughest of races. Cap'n won a three-runner race at Ludlow in March last year but hasn't done anything to justify his rating in two starts for new connections. WELL JOEY was sent to Hexham twice in March, finishing runner-up on heavy ground before justifying favouritism on better going a couple of weeks later. This won't take much winning and he can go in again. Winning point-to-pointer Goldmineinthesky has run well on heavy going so any further rain would enhance his claims.
