      Verdict

Zonus is expected to build upon a closing effort at the end of last season and should account for stable companions Stephano, Tableau and the Richard Hannon trained Mission Man. The son of Pivotal ran encouragingly enough on debut and it is worth noting that the third in the race went on to take a decent maiden at Newmarket. Tableau was slowly away in his first start at Doncaster but stayed on encouragingly come the back end of the race. Guy Reed is used to plenty of winners up North but Stephano was a major disappointment at Redcar on his last start and looks outclassed. Mission Man proved that he is capable of staying further than this during his three juvenile starts and has an interesting booking in Kevin Darley. Inchloss is watched in the market for any signs of encouragement although the pedigree suggests that he will be more prolific over further. Pink Supreme only saw the racecourse once when finishing second to the useful My Key Silca and will be trying to defy a long absence. South Face has an eye-catching pedigree and connections clearly aren't messing about if they are putting Seb Sanders aboard. It is however difficult to go away from Zonus and we will seek not to.
