Verdict

All seven have claims in this but BRODERIE arrives here unbeaten and has a definite fitness advantage over all her rivals bar the top weight Technological. That edge could prove crucial, especially as she is the only distance winner in the race and Godolphin's runners remain in excellent form. Che Bella was a model of consistency last term and demands respect but Rayna's World ended last season with a decisive Yarmouth success on soft ground and, with Philip Kirby runners in good nick at present, could prove the one to throw down the gauntlet to the selection. Technological has gone well on the all-weather this winter and Dr Richard Kimble is a potential improver off bottom weight for Mark Johnston.
