always last, jumped left most of way, mistake 1st, hit 5th, lost touch after 4 out, tailed off when went badly left 2 out and pulled up

Like a few races on today’s card, this has cut up quite badly. HURRICANE BAY has done nothing but improve since only beaten a neck on his hurdling debut. He was a close-up third in a Grade 2 over 3m here last month and the drop back in trip won’t be a problem. In receipt of 10lb, Scrum Diddly could make a race of it for second spot with the Catterick and Newcastle winner Imperial Merlin.
Imperial Merlin (IRE) 2-5fav (11-12) Raced in second, shaken up approaching 2 out, joined leader last, kept on run-in but no match for winner, 2nd of 7, 2 1/4l behind De Legislator (11-7) at Kelso 2m 7f (4) hvy in Dec.
Hurricane Bay 16-1 (11-0) Prominent, led before 3 out, pushed along 2 out, faced strong challenge last, ridden and headed run-in, held final 110 yards, 3rd of 10, 4 3/4l behind Maximilian (11-0) at Doncaster 3m (1) gd in Jan.
Medicine Wheel 125-1 (11-0) Held up in behind leaders, ridden and weakened from 3f out, 9th of 12, 26 1/4l behind Fenna's Loss (11-0) at Hexham 2m (5) gd in Jun.
Scrum Diddly (IRE) 18-1 (11-5) Towards rear, mistake 4th and 6th some headway after 4 out, no impression after next, 6th of 10, 20 1/4l behind Kilbeg King (11-12) at Fontwell 2m 6f (4) gd in Feb.
