In depth

Verdict

Plenty of runners, but not a strong race. Cosmic Case will appreciate this easier grade having been outclassed at Aintree. She will have the assistance of Tony Dobbin, who knows her so well having won on her three times. Meadows Boy bounced back to form when proving too resolute for Supreme Fortune at Haydock. He looks to have enough to do off this mark. John Mackie looks to hold the key to this. Red Sun is a consistent individual and will find this easier than when beaten at Cheltenham, but a chance is taken with his stablemate Accepting, who gets the TEAMtalk vote. The selection, who is stepping into handicap company for the first time, paid the penalty for trying to keep tabs on the useful Priests Bridge at Uttoxeter last month, folding badly up the straight. He doesn't look harshly treated and with Tom Phelan taking off a further 5lb, he looks the one to be with.
