It's a surprise that none of these have any fancy entries as there are some well-bred maidens on show representing powerful yards. Matrooh and Mutajally both made their debuts in the Wood Ditton at Newmarket. There wasn't much to choose between the pair but Hanagan deserts the latter for the former now so he is probably expected to confirm the form. Mutajally is trained by Sir Michael Stoute but DEFENDANT is probably the stable's best of hope of success after a promising fourth at Windsor. He was still a little green that day but finished ahead of both Orbison and Evident and can get off the mark in this. Canon Law and 240,000gns yearling Spirit Rider are both related to plenty of winners and worth noting for future reference.
