In depth

Verdict

Some powerful yards have runners in this and Paul Nicholls' Rock On Oscar will be popular dropped in distance after narrow-margin defeats at Kempton and Taunton. Newsworthy was well backed ahead of his hurdling debut at Cheltenham in October but could only manage fourth and may need more time. KERROW looked likely to play a big part in proceedings turning for home at Ascot last time but may not have stayed. That race was over 2m5f so this slightly shorter distance should be ideal and he can open his account. Chase End Charlie won over course and distance under Richard Johnson last month but this looks a lot more competitive and he also has a penalty to carry. Huntingdon third Sonneofpresenting has scope and makes more appeal than Ludlow second Another Frontier of the remainder.
