Dark Society lines up in form and gets the vote over Sconced, Mr Boo, White Dove and The Hairy Lemon. Dark Society has really come to himself this term, scoring at Kempton and then following up under a penalty at Bangor a fortnight ago, He was ridden with the utmost confidence by Wayne Hutchinson who delivered his effort late at the Welsh track, and the up and coming pilot will no doubt adopt the same tactics today. Trainer Tony Carroll is unhappy over the handicapper's response but another win here will ease the pain. Keith Mercer has been booked to ride Sconced who will be all the better for his return to action at Newcastle, but he is not certain to reverse form with The Hairy Lemon. Both should play a part though, along with White Dove. However, Dark Society sets the standard and is taken to complete a hat-trick.
