    Verdict

An interesting conditions stakes that could turn tactical; Flying Clarets would be a danger if allowed a really soft lead however preference is for WITH INTEREST ahead of the progressive handicapper Perks. The last-named is interesting given the manner of his win in a valuable handicap at Haydock. That was on testing ground and he obviously likes to get his toe in, but this move up in class may be a forced one as the handicapper has had his say with an 11lb rise in the weights making handicaps no longer a viable option. Our preference is for With Interest, who has also shown a liking for soft ground. His career has been interrupted by injury but he made a pleasing return to action recently after a spell in Dubai. His third behind Drumfire reads fairly well and he looks sure to improve for the run. Docofthebay hasn't convinced that he actually stays this trip and is normally seen to best effect coming off a very strong pace and further rain would go against him. Flying Clarets is the obvious pace-setter and should not be given too much rope as she is a galloping front-runner who likes the mud and has dominated small fields like this in the past.
