The Hughie Morrison-trained Baltic King acted very well at the course when he ran third in last season's Portland and is selected to go a couple of places better on his return to Town Moor; possibly with Caribbean Coral the one to give him the most to do. The connections of Enchanted and Bishops Court would no doubt argue that point as both their charges have solid claims in this company. The latter especially as he does not seem to know how to run a bad race these days and many will point to their run at Beverley as being god enough form to go close here. There was very little to split either horse from our selection on the line and this more conventional track will be instrumental in bringing them closer. However, it is worth bearing in mind that Caribbean Coral could never land a blow from the worst of the draw and his presence in the line up does add depth to the picture. However, Baltic King, who out battled Pivotal Point in a valuable handicap at Ascot in July, has got his act together well after a slow start to his campaign this time around. The son of Danetime was not given a hard time when he failed to give his running behind Celtic Mill at Windsor in May and is better judged on his recent form. Which, in our eyes gives him a narrow verdict in a tough race to call.
