    Verdict

Cup form is usually reliable and, with that in mind, Darasim is selected over Millenary and Dancing Bay, who could give him the most to do. That said High Accolade, runner up to Brian Boru in last year's St Leger, should be capable of shaking them all up if he lasts home and he could easily throw a spanner in the works for the selection if he shows anything like that sort of relish on his return to Town Moor. Silver Gilt and Corrib Eclipse have a little to find on their recent York form and are not hard to overlook, while Kasthari surely has a little to prove on his return to the Flat after a long absence from the action. He does have bits and pieces of form that give him claims of overhauling at least Millenary over this trip and it may be prudent to monitor the betting careful where he is concerned. Dancing Bay ran the race of his life at York last month and has nothing to prove regarding his stamina. However, he does have to prove that his Knavesmire effort was not just a one-off performance and he may have to settle for minor honours again today. That theory is given further credence when Darasim's record is taken into account, as he has already won four Group races over the last two years. Mark Johnston's charge is unlikely to be inconvenienced by the trip and, as a versatile performer regarding the ground, Darasim will be a very tough rival to overhaul with everything in his favour this afternoon.
