In depth

Verdict

After his winning start at Naas, War Envoy has twice finished behind Kool Kompany and also behind The Wow Signal so he's been keeping strong company. He's been given a few weeks off after a hectic opening and is likely to make further progress. CAPPELLA SANSEVERO finished in front of him in the Coventry Stakes when runner-up to The Wow Signal but behind him later in the Railway Stakes on this track. Ger Lyons' colt has since run very well in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes behind Dick Whittington and that looks slightly the better form so he's the one to be on. Rapid Applause has also finished close up behind Dick Whittington and was probably unlucky in-running. He's a smart prospect and it would be no surprise to see him take this. All of the remainder will need to make major progress to trouble the principals.
