Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute has won this three times in the past 11 years and relies on ELEANORA DUSE this time. The daughter of Azamour didn't appreciate the extra quarter-mile of the Yorkshire Oaks last time but had earlier landed a listed contest over today's trip at Newbury in good style. She has a length to find with Aviate on their running in the Musidora earlier in the year but Henry Cecil's filly may be just short of match practice as she hasn't been seen since well beaten in the Oaks at Epsom. James Fanshawe wouldn't be sending the ultra-consistent Alsace Lorraine unless he thought she had a chance while Devoted To You didn't show her true form in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket and has been given plenty of time to recuperate from whatever ailed her that day.
