Verdict

Dark Alliance was having just his sixth start when easily accounting for Balmont Blast at Dundalk and can improve further, though he hasn't run since November. Battleroftheboyne is mainly consistent so deserved his victory at Navan. That was achieved on fast ground over the minimum but he's versatile enough to handle today's conditions. BAINNE (NAP) was having his first start for new connections when a close fourth in that latter event. He was finishing strongly and is better over this trip, so with the revised weights in his favour and Shane Kelly's claim a bonus, he looks the one to be on. Doonard Prince showed his liking for this trip and some give in the ground when scoring at Naas in April and a 4lb rise won't be a problem as Tom Madden can claim more than that back. Enter The Red ran well at Cork but is still 10lb higher than his only victory at that track in October.
