Verdict

Three-year-olds have won six of the last ten but the two latest renewals have gone to the older brigade. SAPPHIRE and Bible Belt head the older fillies and the former looks to be still improving despite having had nine starts. She started favourite in the Group 1 Pretty Polly at the Curragh but had no answer to Izzi Top, who was completing a four-timer. She finished behind Bible Belt at Gowran last August and the latter proved herself at a high level subsequently though she was beaten a long way on her reappearance by So You Think in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh in May. Eternal Bounty and Demurely were both around 10 lengths behind Sapphire over the C&D in June and are unlikely to have made enough progress to reverse the form.
