Verdict

Penitent continues to ply his trade with distinction but it's some time since a horse of his age won this race and GLORY AWAITS can take his measure. This represents a massive drop from the heights he reached when second in last season's 2,000 Guineas land and though Kevin Ryan's charge has been unable to subsequently get his head infront, he showed enough in the Queen Anne Stakes to suggest that he retains ability. Boom And Bust seems fated to find one too good and there was clearly something amiss on his seasonal reappearance at Newmarket. Intransigent and Mushir are improving handicappers and connections are clearly fancying their chances of nicking a Listed race along the way.
