In depth

Verdict

Bishop¿s Court is a standing dish in this Listed contest and is sure to go close again, with Dragon Flyer, Fire Up The Band, Curfew and Dorubako taken to give him most to do. Bishop¿s Court has turned out in this contest four times already, with a record that reads two wins and two seconds, and will be strongly fancied to add to his successes over the past two years. Lynda Ramsden¿s 10-year-old has had Dragon Flyer behind in second on both occasions and although the latter has not even been placed of late, he is sure to be primed to go well. Fire Up The Band was well adrift in the Wokingham but is a classy sort on his best form and has a good draw for his first ever visit to Chester. How he copes with the bends is anybody¿s guess though. Curfew comes from a stable that is bubbling after the success of Frizzante on Thursday and this lightly-raced sort should not be ruled out despite a lack of competitive racing. Dorubako is an interesting contender from Japan but the track and ground are alien to him and along with Norwegian entry Steve¿s Champ, is passed over. Talbot Avenue coped well with the soft ground when second to Whistler at Sandown so is worth a mention, but the class act is Bishop¿s Court who can complete a hat-trick in this event.
