In depth

Verdict

Peeptoe can improve enough to beat Burton Ash and newcomers Icing and Rapid Romance. Peeptoe made a promising debut when third to Right Answer at Salisbury and the daughter of Machiavellian is expected to improve over the extra furlong. Burton Ash has shaped well at York and Redcar, but although having that little bit of experience, does not have as much scope as some of the others. There are some interesting newcomers including Icing, a daughter of Polar Falcon who is owned by the Chevely Park Stud. She holds an entry in a valuable sales race and could be anything as could Rapid Romance who will appreciate further in time. Richard Hannon is double-handed with Midnight Lace and Montjeu Baby. If either are half as good as Cherry Hinton winner Jewel In The Sand then watch out. However, in a race in which bets are best kept small, Peeptoe gets the vote.
