      Verdict

Experience, a low draw and pace are the prerequisites here and with that in mind, The Lord fits the bill ideally despite carrying a 6lb penalty. Bill Turner's speedy colt made all to land the Brocklesby and was then far from disgraced when third in a useful early season event at Newmarket. Polar Force is open to considerable improvement having narrowly landed a Newbury maiden on his debut last month but does not have the best of the draw. Capponicus is the most exposed and may be vulnerable to an improver so Golden Nun, who met a useful type on her debut and is entitled to progress, may be best of the rest.
