In depth

Verdict

A number of these have claims on the best of their form and the selection of Portrait Of A Lady is made with a degree of trepidation as both Anyhow and Wasted Talent are capable of figuring strongly at this level. So too is Stealing Beauty, who is a lightly raced sort that comes into the race with very solid claims but will do well to confirm her superiority over the first-time blinkered Wasted Talent on these terms. Compton Eclaire is another that has a feasible chance at the weights and is one to watch in the betting market. However, considering her trainer's sluggish start to the season she may be one to watch again today. Therefore, Portrait Of A Lady, who dropped a significant hint about her ability when winning at Thirsk, is fancied to be the most reliable option in this company. The Henry Cecil-trained filly edged out some useful looking rivals in her latest start and, with similar conditions set to prevail, Portrait Of A Lady has everything in place for her to make a bold bid to follow up here. Anyhow is a consistent sort but she is creeping up the weights now and may find the selection too progressive here.
