Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

The two that catch the eye straight away are the Paul Nicholls pair Le Passing and Le Jaguar and they could fight out the finish, with the first named chosen to oblige, Nonantais could prove best of the remainder. Le Passing, the choice of stable jockey Ruby Walsh, has put in two promising efforts already this season. Firstly at Sandown in November he finished third to the impressive Mambo, before chasing home El Vaquero at Taunton. He should be spot on for this event and will be hard to beat. Stablemate Le Jaguar hasn't been disgraced behind the likes of My Will and Made In Japan and should give the selection plenty to think about. Barton Hill has also put up two promising displays and cannot be discounted easily, neither can Nonantais who put up a superb effort on his chasing debut last season when second to Hawk's Landing. He is relatively lightly raced and could go close if fit for his seasonal bow. Captain Corelli could prove best of the remainder, but Nicholls holds all the cards here and Le Passing looks the ace in the pack.
