In depth

Verdict

Noisetine gets the vote over the likes of Wain Mountain, Black Frost and Latitude to name but three. Venetia Williams has her team in good form at present, and that augurs well for the chance of Noisetine who bolted up at Warwick 10 days ago. She basically galloped her rivals into submission under Sam Thomas and with the testing ground sure to be in her favour, can repeat the feat today. She gets lumps of weight off Wain Mountain who was a bit to keen on his reappearance over the course and distance recently. He was only just denied though and should again go well if Wayne Hutchinson can get him to settle. Black Frost found Grade 2 company too hot to handle at Windsor and is another that should make his presence felt, but he to has to give plenty of weight to the selection, and in addition has it to do with Latitude who finished ahead of him at the Berkshire track, and who may have been even closer to the winner Massac had she not been hampered by the fall of Non-So. Of the rest, Flinders Chase is closely matched with Wain Mountain, Haut de Gamme has not mirrored the form of his stable lately, and Almost Broke will find this trip on the short side. All in all, Noisetine looks the one to be on.
