In depth

Verdict

At first sight, a tricky puzzle to solve as a few of these have been out of sorts for a while. Big Society, Paddy The Oscar and Safran De Cotte are among that number but Smart Exit and Georgian King filled the places behind Pure Poteen over course and distance last month while Castarnie showed rapid improvement when stepped up to 3m at the start of the year, winning at Taunton and Exeter. BOYFROMNOWHERE, who won a point easily in the spring, is very interesting off bottom weight back under Rules. Still only eight, he won the Southern National at Fontwell two years ago off a mark of 125 when trained by Rebecca Curtis so he'll think he's running loose here off only 109 with an in form amateur taking off a further 7lb. Crack Of Thunder and Basford Ben look the pick of the remainder.
