Verdict

The unexposed Persian Rock makes plenty of appeal as one on a upwards curve and can account for the likes of Musico and Come Good if he continues to go the right way. Time For You is probably better than he showed on his handicap debut and is fancied to emerge as the best of the rest. By way of contrast Musico was upped to seven furlongs for his debut in a nursery and was far from disgraced in making the winner pull out all the stops. The drop back in trip will aid his cause today and he should go close. Come Good has also shaped as if there is a handicap in him somewhere along the line and represents good value at the likely prices. However, Persian Rock, who has had his sights lowered to some of the big end-of-season sales races, looked a useful recruit when winning at Windsor. The son of Namid was given plenty of time to get over a bout of sickness that has restricted his campaign and, although the Gimcrack is now out of the question, he can confirm his early promise by taking a race like this in his stride.
