Verdict

Once again, a disappointing turnout for what is a good prize, but Garmoucheh is expected to follow up her recent Doncaster victory at the expense of Loweswater. Richard Hannon's filly showed a fine turn of foot to beat a Godolphin hotpot in a similar race at Doncaster, and returned to something like the smart form she showed as a juvenile. A tactical race, which seems likely here, should play into her hands, and she is taken to score at the main expense of Loweswater, who got no sort of run in the Zetland Gold Cup last time, but had earlier been well backed when second at Doncaster in handicap company and has to be respected. There may not be a great deal between Ed Dunlop's pair, Rasid and Island Light, but on this year's form they could be set to battle it out for third and fourth place prize money.
