Verdict

Mimic makes a quick reappearance after scoring at Lingfield on Tuesday, and is fancied to defy a penalty, with Isengard the obvious danger. Mimic has a six pound penalty for that latest win, but showed plenty of speed to overcome an unfavourable low draw so the drop back to the minimum trip should not inconvenience this daughter of Royal Applause and she is fancied to follow up under Darryll Holland. The main danger is clearly Isengard, who beat the selection by nearly four lengths at Lingfield last November on Polytrack, and is only four pounds worse off here. She too was not helped by the draw at Ripon last time, and under the circumstances did well to finish sixth. Of the remainder, Tripti won at Brighton a couple of starts ago but disappointed next time and is probably best watched for now.
